Love is a very common part of books, and as if it wasn't complex enough, it just got more complex in my book. Dylan is a female... Pretending to be a male in the British Air Force, and recently the reader has just discovered that another female character; Lilit has a crush on Dylan. Alek and Dylan are very close friends, and Alek doesn'y even know Dylan is a girl. In my opinion they are very good friends, but if Alek discovered of Dylan incognito then Alek would feel ashamed of himself and also would start to avoid Dylan. Even Dylan says it, she says that if she revealed her secret, she was afraid that he would love her. And its true.
Dylan loves Alek and she knows it. She has embarassed herself at very awkward moments, such as one scene when Alek is saying that he loves the Leviathan, while she thinks he was about to say his love for her. Alek is eventually going to find out and the outcome might be a downfall.
Another thing that complicates this love triangle is the fact that Dylan is jealous of Lilit liking Alek, while at the same type her aggressive attitude towards Lilit makes her like Dylan, actually screwing her over in the end. Don't you just love love-triangles?
