In Behemoth it is very disappointing that even though Alek has saved the Leviathan countless times, he is still treated like a foreigner, and even though everyone on the ship would be dead if it wasn't for him, he is still going to be taken prisoner. It annoys me very much, as Alek's actions were very caring and generous, and rewarded with the threat of being taken prisoner.
The only good people on the ship beside the Clanker crew is Dr. Barlow and Deryn. They have a good sense of right and wrong, and even though they can be executed for their actions, they still do what is best for not only themselves and their nation, but ALL of the nations instead. They are willing to try to end the war, even though they don't say it directly, and support Alek who can try to reunite the nations through peace, instead of warfare.
In conclusion I really think Alek deserves a lot more respect than he really gets. He can change the decisions of nations, and the people who help him really care about him and know his power.
