Leviathan Book Report 2

In my book Leviathan, the two very different characters are finally meeting up. Alek, who is used to being safe, and in control most of the time has just gotten a smack of reality. He was captured by Deryn, the other main character who has been pretending to be a boy to be able to join the British. It really showed Alek a rich person, used to fair treatment, that he would have to work harder, and be more wise to rule over his country.
After Alek's parents death, and after his Grand-father dies, he will become the ruler of Austria. He doesn't listen to his elders, but is learning a lot to become fit to rule. He always compares himself to his Father, who always knows what to say, and always wants peace. He always compares himself to him, and in my opinion has very low self-esteem. I believe Alek will be ready to rule his empire, after he gets through his flaws.
I see improvement a lot on Aleks part, at first he thought that everyone was like him, and they were polite and royal, but once he met commoners they were very rude to him, and did not talk with a aristocratic tongue. He is also accepting the death of his parents and being very mature about it. In conclusion Alek has changed over the short months hes been a fugitive, and is turning into a stronger person.
